Syllabus for Pre-algebra

Students completing Math 110-Prealgebra should be able to do:

Arithmetic of whole numbers and decimals.
Arithmetic of fractions.
Mathematics of ratio/proportion/percentage
Mathematics of geometry/measurement
Graphs/statistics/signed number arithmetic
Algebraic operations/linear equations
Use appropriate technology as part of completion of the above objectives
Demonstrate a knowledge of current technology and its use and/or familiarity with scientific issues

Math 110 Associate Degree Outcomes

Jackson Community College’s goal is to prepare students to live productive and meaningful lives. Implicit in
this goal are efforts to prepare students to: (a) live and work in the twenty-first century,
(b) be employed in situations which will require retraining several times during a productive life, and
(c) function in a rapidly changing information society. To accomplish this goal, this course addresses the
