Solving Formulas for a Specified Variable
A formula or “literal equation” is a relationship between
measurements. Occasionally it is
necessary to take a formula and rearrange it so that it is solved for a
different variable.
Examples:
1) Solve for h:
2) Solve for b: P=a+b+c
3) Solve for C:
4) Solve for b:
5) Solve for W: A = 2HW + 2LW + 2LH
6) Solve for h: a(b – h) – hm = r
7) Solve for c: ax – 4c = a(c – d) + 3
